# Selections File for GNOME, Freeware August 2002
# ------ START OF README ------ #
#
# Following the steps below will install Gnome with the subsystems
# listed in this selections file. These instructions assume that your
# system has network access to a system that contains the selections
# file.
#
# 1. Load the products:
#
# a. After re-making the filesystem, at the Inst prompt type "from" and
# Inst will prompt you to load each CD.
# b. Eject the IRIX CD if the installation tools were loaded from the CD.
# c. Insert the CD's shown below in the order listed.
# *The order in which the CD's are loaded is very important.*
# (Note: Hit the spacebar to view the README text for each CD.)
# d. If you are installing from CD's, please Install from "/CDROM/dist"
# For network installs, Install from "<hostname>:/<pathname>" where
# pathname is the location of each CD.
#
# 2. Use the selections file to select the products:
#
# a. Once all product descriptions are read from each CD, you can choose to
# read the inst startup script or type "done" at the
# "Install software from:" prompt.
# b. Type "keep *" at the Inst prompt. This deselects any marked
# subsystems that were automatically marked for install.
# c. Type "admin load <hostname>:/<pathname>" where the pathname is the
# location of this selections file on the remote system. This marks
# for installation all the subsystems listed in the selections file.
#
# 3. Resolve conflicts
#
# a. Type "conflict" to display missing subsystem dependencies.
# b. Open additional distributions as needed to resolve conflicts.
#
# 4. Install the software and exit inst:
#
# a. Type "go" to start the installation.
# b. Insert the appropriate CD when prompted.
# c. When prompted to insert another CD, type "quit".
#
# TROUBLESHOOTING:
# If you encounter any problems installing over the network, please
# make sure your netmask or hostname and IP address are set correctly.
# Go into the Admin menu, by typing "admin" at the Inst prompt, and
# set the hostname from there.
#
# You will need the following CD's
# Freeware part 1 of 4, August 2002
# Freeware part 2 of 4, August 2002
# Freeware part 3 of 4, August 2002
# Freeware part 4 of 4, August 2002
#
# You may need your base IRIX CD's and any overlay or patch CD's for
# base IRIX subsystems such as compiler_eoe.sw32.lib
#
